Marianne den Otter - Welcome
To me stone is the ultimate medium to express my imagination. Inspired by material, form and structure I prefer the 'taille direct' method.
Problems with mass and volume are challenges to overcome.
Looking for the woman in the stone I find her in many of her appearances : the mothers, muzen and amazones. Often independent, sometimes vulnerable but always with inner dignity.
In my birth- and comfortsculptures universal emotions are recognizable. They are statements of being human.
On regular basis I like to give workshops for adults and children in my galerie.
Mariannne den Otter is a selftaught artist since 1990 and lives at the moment in Beekbergen in the Netherlands.
